World Soil Day 🌱

Today we celebrate World Soil Day, established by the FAO to raise awareness about the importance of soil as a vital resource for life and environmental sustainability. This year’s theme, “Soil Care: Measure, Monitor, Manage”, highlights the crucial role of research in understanding soil processes and supporting informed decisions for sustainable management and food security.
For this occasion, the AgroFood Research Hub at the University of Brescia is organizing an event at DICATAM, involving students from several high schools in Brescia and the surrounding province. During the event, which will also host the School of Biodiversity and Bioindication (BIOBIO 2024), participants will explore the connection between biodiversity and soil quality and discover innovative technologies for monitoring and sustainably managing agricultural systems.
